Cheeky pattern February 2

Can you catch yourself
catching a falling star,
falling off the ledge.
You can see me
smiling as water washes everything clean.
Someday I will write with chalk
on the stone walls
of your house.
Do you remember the way
we could run away from them,
our throats moist with tears
we couldn’t let them see us cry?
Yes you can catch a falling star.
Maybe, this crazy wind will blow us apart.
Leave us talking of chess and nonsense
chess and nonsense, talking of
laughter drying up like a cheeky pattern in somebody’s notebook.
